RARE! 1964 Airline “JB Hutto” Wood Body Jack White / Jetsons Guitar (Supro Valco) w/ OHSC

Up for sale is a super cool and incredibly rare wood body 1964 Airline JB Hutto model electric guitar in very good condition and perfect working order. This axe is also commonly referred to as the “Jetsons” guitar and was used by Jack White of The White Stripes at the turn of the century. We just gave it a pro set up with a set of 11-48 gauge strings so it plays amazingly with a straight neck, low action and the original pair of single coil pickups sound exceptional! Just to state the obvious, it’s hard to find these early wood body examples as compared to their Res-O-Glass counterparts.

Cosmetically, this instrument is really clean and has been well taken care of over the years. That said, it does exhibit some mild cosmetic wear such as: there’s some dings scattered around, swirl marks, dents, finish wear and light scratching. See pics for condition and please excuse any reflections.

The original frets were just lightly leveled and crowned so there’s no real discernible wear to speak of save for a couple very shallow divots on frets 1-3 under the plain strings only. These came with vintage size (small) frets from the factory so there wasn’t much fret to start with and we didn’t want to take too much off. After the fret level, we were really able to dial the action in on this one as it measures 2/32nds on the treble side and 5/64ths on the bass side. And it can be adjusted up or down to match your personal preference. Long story short, this axe plays great! Which, unfortunately, is not the norm with these Valco/Supro/Airline pieces.

To the best of our knowledge, this instrument is 100% original and is complete with its original case. The original Stackpole pots day to the 52nd week of 1963. The guitar weighs 7lbs 3.2oz. The nut width is 1.725”. The neck pickup reads 8.61K and the bridge 8.65K.
