Back in the 1950s this snare was introduced as the Buddy Rich snare, but from the early 1960s on it was officially renamed the Jazz Fest snare with its 5.5" depth.
The current Jazz Fest snare is an exact reissue of this iconic classic, made to the same specifications; 3 ply mahogany shell with round bearing edges with reinforcement rings, finished on the inside with white reso coat, 8 twin lugs, vintage '64 snare bed and 3-step "baseball bat" tone-control damper system on the inside.
This version is finished with a super classic sky blue pearl premium wrap finish ply.
