I've only owned this since August, so 5 months. I treat my guitars like gold, so its still in mint condition. I bought it from Sweetwater for $1449.00, the current price still today. This has been "the one", my go-to every day guitar, but I just recently fell in love with Strandbergs and bought one this morning, so I'm making the switch. I've also added a Trem Stop from FU-tone, so the Floyd Rose is set to dive bomb only, but you can easily just remove it to return to full floating. The Sustainiac is awesome. Controllable arena feedback on demand at bedroom volume. The string action is set super low. Upper neck plays smooth as butter. You can easily raise it if needed by adjusting the Floyd bridge. I would have kept this forever, but the Strandberg was calling to me. Bought it this morning from Sweetwater and I'm following the "sell one to buy one rule."
I ship very fast, next day, and I think I even have the original box from Sweetwater still.
A Modern Axe with a High-performance Attitude The Schecter Avenger FR S Apocalypse exudes a high-performance attitude — it’s the consummate modern metal axe. Its resonant swamp ash body delivers the warmth and upper-mid bite you need, while its multi-ply, carbon-fiber neck and compound-radius fingerboard offer the comfort and lightning-fast playability you demand. You’ll appreciate this solidbody electric guitar’s set-neck construction and ultra-access neck heel — it was clearly built for high-level guitarists. An aggressive Apocalypse-VI bridge humbucker and neck-position Sustainiac deliver the goods when you plug into your favorite amplifier, and a Schecter-exclusive Floyd Rose 1500 double-locking tremolo system not only facilitates, it begs for whammy abuse. Eye-catching satin black hardware, roman numeral fingerboard inlays, and glow-in-the-dark Luminlay side dot markers add the perfect finishing touches to the Avenger FR S Apocalypse.
Hot-rodded construction equals high performance
The Avenger FR S Apocalypse features an aggressively offset swamp ash body. While ash is a peculiar choice for a metal-style guitar, in this context it works, exhibiting a warm, resonant sound and enough upper-midrange bite to tear through a dense mix. The Avenger FR S Apocalypse’s multi-ply, carbon fiber-reinforced neck boasts a comfortable Thin C shape, while its compound-radius ebony fingerboard facilitates rapid-fire riffage and scorching leads. Beyond that, set-neck construction and an ultra-access neck heel ensure maximum sustain and fretboard accessibility. This guitar’s vibrant finish is a serious attention-grabber. And this solidbody electric guitar’s matching headstock rounds out its look nicely.
Aggressive, detailed tone and near-endless sustain
The Schecter USA Apocalypse-VI Humbuckers in the Avenger FR S Apocalypse have won over legions of players who have fallen in love with their balanced, aggressive tone. Built on a foundation of Alnico-V magnets and dual flanking Ceramic-8s, these pickups deliver killer low-end punch along with piercing treble and crunchy midrange — ideal for soaring leads and heavy power chords. And with the 3-way Pickup Selector and Master Volume Control, you get a massive array of tone-shaping possibilities. But that’s not all! The Avenger FR S Apocalypse’s neck-position Sustainiac pickup delivers near-infinite sustain and thick feedback with a flip of a switch. A 3-way toggle lets you choose from hearing your tone unaffected, a harmonic mode much like the feedback from a cranked amp, and a mix of the two. This is especially helpful if you perform through in-ears without the interaction of a loud amplifier onstage.
Dive-bomb with a Schecter-exclusive Floyd Rose 1500 tremolo
Schecter and Floyd Rose have partnered to bring you the Floyd Rose 1500 double-locking tremolo. Floyd Rose has long been one of the best double-locking tremolos, and the 1500 is a specialized take on their iconic design that you will only find on select Schecter guitars. This souped-up tremolo employs stainless-steel screws and retooled knife edges for maximum durability. What’s more, it eschews the typical screw-in arm for a push-in one. Trust us, once you get used to the 1500’s push-in arm, you’ll want to retrofit all of your other Floyd-equipped guitars with one — it’s awesome! With the Avenger FR S Apocalypse’s Floyd Rose 1500 trem, you'll get both the rock-solid reliability and the tight response you need for precision playing, along with expressive vibrato and dive-bombing capability.
