Rare Les Paul Custom from the first “Custom Shop” years. It was not until 1993 that the “Gibson Custom, Art & Historic Division” was officially founded. However, guitars were built to “Custom Shop specifications” as early as 1991 to 1992. The guitars from these desirable years of ’91 and ’92 are what we today refer to as “Pre-Historic”.
This Les Paul is in wonderful original condition, including the PAF style ’57 Classic pickups. When we acquired the guitar, there were two spots on the top where the nitro lacquer had dissolved (probably the wrong cleaning agent was used). These spots were professionally retouched in our own workshop and are now no longer visible.
