I bought a new $700+ Guild Starfire Jet 90 gold top for the 3 famous GUILD FRANZ P90 pickups anchored to a chambered mahogany center block with Tremelo. Then I went down a rabbit hole with it. I had Bill at Barney’s Guitar Service replace the price point bridge with a GOTOH Tune-O-Matic ROLLER bridge, and the price point tuners with Hipshot LOCKING tuners. Bill then replaced the price point plastic nut with a BONE nut ( should I have used a roller nut? Maybe but bone makes it a tone machine ) and set up with flat wound 11’s. Now it’s Excellent and way better than new. Too nice not to put in a hard case, so I bought a Guild case. Now I have another $500+ in it! All the issues the reviewers didn’t like have been corrected. BUT ~ I don't really play electric and never use it and good hot damn if I’m Lyin’ I don’t even own an amp. What do I do with it now? Sell it at a loss and let someone enjoy it that will actually use it? Okay My loss your gain. $800 or it will stay in the case. Don’t let this beautiful guitar languish in the case!
