1964 Danelectro Made Silvertone Model 1444 U1 Black Short Scale Bass Guitar Orig Hard Shell Case

A beautiful 1964 Danelectro Made Silvertone Model 1444 30 inch scale Bass in Black with the  original Hard Shell Case! These cool guitars by Silvertone were made from 1959 thru 1966. We are dating this one from the date stamp on the pots. See pics 5 and 6...

The guitar was played, as evidenced by the wear on the back of the neck. Just not very much...The original case took on most of the wear of this guitar. Check the white tolex bindings...they look like new! The frets are still in marvelous shape and not buckle rash or damage anywhere. Just so very minor dings here and there. A couple on the back of the neck... No body cracks. The guitar is in great shape. It does, however have some replaced parts. The input jack was shot, we replaced it and we put a replacement Silvertone Logo on it. It was missing... otherwise... the guitar has original everything else from the aluminum nut, Single Line Kluson Tuners, Dome knobs, Lipstick pickup, White tolex side bindings, wiring, strap buttons and pickguard. With the original Hard Shell case, its quite the time capsule of the Rockin 60's!

The guitar sounds massive. I am always amazed at how much tone comes out of these lipstick pickups. This one is no exception. We plugged it in and the sound oozes out of this awesome bass. We set it up with a new set of strings. A pleasure to play. The guitar has a 30 inch scale neck with a 1 5/8 inch nut. The body is 13 1/4 inches wide at the lower bout and measures 43 1/2 inches long in total length. Gotta love the Peanut Style Headstock on these. Very classic look on these cool Bass Guitars!

Check out the case! WE had a lot of work to hold it back together. We worked on the orignal hinges and replaced one latch... Great interior.... Love the RED Plush interior! Very cool case for your cool Silvertone.
