This Marantz sounds amazing! The playback sounds as good as any high end four track or reel to reel that I’ve ever had. It has two mic inputs on the front, you can line in a mixer via RCA cables, and it sends out each input to the corresponding R/L output so it’s perfect to mix later. It’s basically asking to be used for drums, singer/songwriter production, mix downs, track prints from your digital setup, and it also sounds great for just listening to tapes haha! Still has the gold factory warranty stickers right on the front of the cassette door! 

Marantz rules. They’re primarily known as a hifi company, but you can totally use their stuff for studio production as well. Run your mixes through this and back into your interface, they come back with cool tape warmth and sparkle. The word “warm” is used all the time and maybe a little recklessly, but let’s just settle and agree that “warm” means good lol. I make tape prints of parts all the time in the studio, they can add a really cool sound and feel that can tip a song in a whole different direction than if the whole song stayed on digital.

This thing is in pretty awesome condition, it was pro-owned and maintained. It works perfectly, all movements of the transport and the tape counters move and work flawlessly. Absolutely killer songwriting and recording tool, super gooey 70's tape sounds, Super killer unit!
