Ibanez LACS 7-string | used on many Vai tours | brand new Ibanez case | FREE shipping

I spec'd this 7-string with Ibanez's L.A. Custom Shop in 2001. It was delivered in 2002 and used on various Vai tours, photoshoots, Ibanez clinics, solo tours, recordings, etc.

This 7-string features:

-Ash body. I asked the LACS to paint the guitar in a silver that looked like brushed aluminum (take note of the brush strokes in the finish) and outline with what I referred to as "Gretsch Orange".

-Maple neck with bubinga stripe and a hefty volute. About the neck: the neck shape is based on an RG2027 I had around this time. It was bigger and rounder/deeper than a UV/RG7, provided more sustain and a bit more of a robust note. I gave the LACS that 2027 as a starting point for this neck but we shaved off some of the "shoulder" to retain the heft while being very comfortable and easy to play. The volute was also featured on the 2027, but we experimented with a bigger one, which I found to help provide optimal headstock-to-body balance.

-24-fret, bound, maple board with 12th-fret (really 11, 12, 13) inlay depicting the logo from my first record.

-The pickups are custom-wound Dimarzios based on the PAF7 but a bit hotter.

-Jem/UV-style output jack positioning

-Comes with a "Tremel-No" bridge-block device installed (very easy to uninstall).

-On/off killswitch between the volume and tone knobs.

Even though it was a touring guitar, it is in great shape with only minor wear on the headstock, one chip on the body, minor scrapes, etc). No backplate or truss rod cover included. The pots are a little stiff from lack of use but the guitar functions 100% and plays and sounds great.

Comes in brand new Ibanez case (purchased March '25) with a Dimarzio strap, whammy bar, and two packs of Ernie Ball 7-string strings. I'll include a brief certificate of authenticity as well.

After purchase, the buyer and I will review the guitar via video call before it ships.
