Custom Fender Precision
Started out life as a squire P bass (honestly forget if it was Chinese or Indonesian) and was converted to what's basically a '63 Fender Precision reissue by swapping in the American Professional Precision neck (with 1963 "C" profile, rosewood fret board, and narrow tall frets), reissue pickup, cloth insulated wiring kit, knurled knobs, and neck plate. Tuning machines are not true to the '63 models but I preferred these ones since you don't have to turn them "backwards" and they have the same look.
This was recently setup by the legendary L.A. luthier John Carruthers at his new location in Camarillo. Seriously, look the guy up. He took a lathe to the tuning pegs and got all the frets really nice. Its got great tone and sustain. Still has the squire bridge, but that's about the only thing other than the body that's left over from its squire days.
After the conversion and setup it mostly just sat unused (still has the protective plastic on the tuning machines). Life happened and I have bills to pay unfortunately. Will be very carefully shipped in hardshell case with every precaution to prevent damage.
