For sale we have a wonderful and unique Heritage Sweet 16 from 1991. This is a wonderful player's guitar that sounds incredible and plays exceptionally well. The original pickup was replaced with a highly sought after TW Doyle pickup, and a phase mini switch has been added. The headstock design on this guitar has a wonderful rounded shape towards the top that you do not see on any other Heritage guitars. The inlays are also solid block inlays instead of the normal split-blocks you see on Sweet 16's. This was verified via emails with Heritage to be a one-off guitar made from the factory with these unique features.
The guitar has previously been refretted with jumbo frets. The frets were pushed through the binding instead of over the binding. There are finish checking lines on the neck and body of the guitar. The guitar has no structural issues whatsoever and plays wonderfully. The figuring on the back is also absolutely incredible. The neck is straight and the guitar is currently setup with medium action but can be lowered if desired. Our photographer took pictures of all the checking you will find on this guitar, but most of it disappears depending on what angle the light hits the guitar.
This guitar was appraised by Richard Friedman of We Buy Guitars in 2017 for $4000 in its current condition (no changes have been made since the appraisal). I do believe the unique features add to the value of this guitar, but we have priced this conservatively and hope it finds a good home with someone who will enjoy this unique and beautiful jazzbox.
