Vintage Early 1970's Gibson Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar Case! Rectangle, Purple Interior!

Up for sale is this vintage early 1970's Gibson Les Paul Custom electric guitar case. These original rectangle, purple-lined cases are hard to find and very sought-after these days.

This particular example is in nice condition for its age, but does show some typical wear. "BEST" is painted on top of the case lid and a piece of covering is missing in that spot (pictured). Other than that, the exterior of the case is in nice condition although the original hardware shows wear and pitting. All of the hinges and latches are present and work exactly as they should.

The interior is in nice condition as well, but does show wear and impressions from instruments that have lived in it over the years. All of the padding is present and intact. The neck rest, like all of them, is worn down and allows the headstock to rest on the back of the case. We don't really consider this an issue, as this is basically how they were originally (a cause of many, many headstock breaks).

Overall, I personally wouldn't carry my vintage Custom in this to the gig due to the way these cases were built, but it's the PERFECT piece to complete your vintage Custom package. If you're missing the original case, here's a chance to grab one and drastically increase the value of your vintage instrument.
