Airline 62-9031 1965 Cream/Gold

A 1965 62-9031 Airline amplifier by Valco in excellent condition. This is the same amp as a Supro Bantam S6611 but with different cosmetics - same exact circuit. These small wattage amps deliver that saturated sound that we’re all looking for. Surprisingly loud for a small amp. The Jensen has a very crunchy mid range and makes a great amp for recording or practice.

Grill cloth is clean with no snags, original knobs show only minor wear, The cream covering is clean with some minor nicks and areas where some of the material was removed from tape being applied to it. The chrome chassis is in good condition with no rust but some pitting. The metal faceplate shows some scuffs and some of the lettering has worn off. Speaker is the original 8” Jensen special design blue label and still sounds good with no rubbing or scratching. The vintage tubes still strong one RCA 50L6 and one 12AX7. NOTE: This is a no power transformer amp circuit, but the power cord has been replaced with a keyed 2-prong power cable insuring that the line and neutral are connected correctly. However if the circuit it plugs into isn't wired correctly, there is still a possibility of a shock hazard.

The electrolytic caps were leaky and replaced with sprague as were a few of the connecting caps. All the controls and jacks were de-oxitized.

A fun little amp that delivers great tone.
