1966 Guild T-100 -
This was converted from hollow body to a semi-hollow so it could be used at loud stage volumes without the inherent feedback of a fully hollowbody- The guitar body back was removed and two Solid Mahogany blocks with thinner layer of solid spruce were used - One between the pickups (About a 3” Block) and the other from just below the treble pickup to a bit below the bridge (About a 7 “ block)- the spruce layers were carved to conform to the top and back curves, like a 335- Very musical tone-woods. Set up with 49-11 (Wound G) She plays great with easy action!
The back and side were refinished after the back was rejoined- Proper Nitro Lacquer was used - The finish on the top and neck are original and show plenty of wear, especially the back of the neck, which is worn through over 50% or so of the neck- Feels great!!!
The headstock Veneer has the common guild- Peel away at the edges- It’s on good, but does have area’s along the edge that curl out a tad- See photos-----
Pickups are McNelly P90 sized versions of the famous Charlie Christian Pickup - Look them up if you don’t know them - They’re wound with 38-gauge wire like original CC pickups. A2 magnets give a gorgeous sweet tone to the clear highs. If there is such a thing as a "3D" sounding pickup, the Charlie Christian may be the poster child. - The pickups are black with nickel surrounds, floating in basic tortoise surrounds
The tailpiece is a Duesenberg Radiator Tremolo in nickel- It’s basically a Bigsby B-7 but better, and very stylish-
The Bridge is a Nashville Tuneomatic, nickel finish-
The knobs and Pickguard are all modern Guild issue- Pickguard was routed to allow access to the pickup hight adjustment screws-
The tuners are Kluson Wafflebacks in nickel
Nut is changed to 6/6 nylon, like old 50’s gibson’s
The guitar is wired pickups to switchcraft 3-way selector, then through one volume/tone knobs and to output jack- so currently two of the knobs are just dummy knobs- The old pots are in there though should the new owner want to switch the wiring for individual volume tones for each pickup-
The case is pretty worn and beat, but still does its job- 3 of the latches are good- the 4th is sort’a wanky, with a make-shift strap- but does work and the flip keyed latch works but doesn’t spring out when you press the button- it does latch and open though----
Nut width is 1-5/8 - frets are dressed good, no divots, The brazilian rosewood board is not all chewed up and is quite beautiful - 24-5/8 scale length
No Overseas Shipping - Brazilian Rosewood can’t be shipped over boarders - Tis illegal ---
