Here's The Run Down:

This is A Very Cool Vintage 1920's Or 30's Lyon & Healy Open Back Tenor Banjo! This is a USA made banjo that is "pre war" and is in very good solid condition overall for its age and still sporting its original Presto Tail Piece and tuning pegs (see pics). Its appears to be all original with the possible exception of the head and bridge.  This one has a very nice birds eye maple ring and what appears to be a basic metal tone ring. Possibly a like a style F.  This is a Lyon & Healy made instrument, although there are no marking or serial number that I've found.  This will need to be taken apart, properly cleaned, strung and set up. There will be marks, scuffs, scratches and discoloration of the hardware and other superficial flaws here and there, but nothing other than you would expect of a used, played and vintage instrument (see pics). I tried to take really good pics, so you can judge for yourself (see pics). I believe the pics represent it well and nothing is hidden. The neck is straight and the frets do show average wear for a unrestored instrument of this era. I believe in the right hands this one can be cleaned up and playing like a bandit in a day or less, since not much is needed. If your looking for a Vintage Tenor Banjo that your friends do not have, plays great and wont break the bank, this is the one you have been waiting for!

This Vintage Tenor Banjo is playable as it sits, but will play perfectly when set up.  From what I can tell, it will be a loud one for sure!
