Up for sale, a Fuchs Blackjack 21 Mk II 1x12 tube amp in near mint condition and in perfect working order. A Dumble-esque 20 watt circuit, this particular Blackjack benefits from a pair of custom mods on the back panel performed by Andy Fuchs himself including adding a Master Gain control for the clean channel, along with a Gain Cut control (in addition to the usual Gain Boost).
At 21 watts, the Blackjack 21 MKII is the lowest powered amp in Fuchs' Casino series, combining point-to-point wiring with high-quality PCBs and custom-wound transformers, housed in an aircraft-grade aluminium chassis. A very versatile two-channel design with the usual trimmings, additional useful features include a buffered effects loop, onboard digital reverb (based on Fuchs’ Verbrator pedal), and a comprehensive five button footswitch. Powered by a pair of 6V6 power tubes, these valves are biased individually so that matched pairs aren't required.
The first channel offers exquisite clarity, with everything from pristine cleans to harmonic-rich overdrive and thickness, especially when the Boost feature is engaged, yielding a creamy crunch with near endless sustain. The second (dirty) channel is capable of considerable drive with a refined, creamy Dumble-esque quality. The Blackjack MKII always retains a sweet, airy treble character, precise definition and clear note separation, even at high gain levels.
The speaker is the original Warehouse ET65 65 watt ceramic magnet driver, a perfect pairing for the versatility of the Blackjack platform, offering ideal headroom. The cabinet is covered in cream tolex with oxblood grillcloth and black hardware, and there's sparingly little wear on the enclosure.
