Up for sale is a 1989 USA Kramer ProAxe Standard modified with Kahler Steeler tremolo - excellent original neck with oiled finish, distressed finish original Honduran mahogany body, hard-to-find original Duncan Parallel Axis humbucker.
The neck is the main attraction on this ProAxe. - Rare neck, Gibson 24.75 scale unlike most Kramers (25.5). Highest quality ebony fretboard. Thin neck profile with narrow R1 nut. This is the only other Kramer with the same specs as the coveted vintage Nightswan. The ProAxe pointy headstocks are fragile and commonly break in shipping then are repaired. This neck's headstock has never been broken. The neck is very straight and there are no dings to the back of the neck - near perfect oiled finish.
It is expertly set up and ready for professional play.
Another great feature is the USA Kahler Steeler tremolo. Steelers are recognized by in-the-know folks as the only licensed Floyd Rose copy that was arguably superior to the German original Floyd Rose, NOT a cheap knock-off like millions of other knock-offs.
Rumor is that Kramer introduced the ProAxe in order to avoid paying royalties to Vivian Campbell on the Nightswan (Viv's pro model), but it was shortly before the company went bankrupt in '89.
This is a top-shelf high-performance axe.
Ships with used hard case.
