The JBL PRX418S is an passive eighteen-inch subwoofer handling 800 watts of continuous power, and rated with a 130 dB SPL peak. It is calibrated to connect perfectly with any of the satellite 2-way speakers in the PRX line, like the JBL PRX615M or the JBL PRX625. However, it will work well with other speaker systems in any full-range situation when a woofer with a nominal 8 ohm line impedance is called for. Like the rest of the speakers in the PRX line, the PRX418S is designed to provide sound reinforcement in a wide variety of situations, and is ruggedly built to withstand transport even in rough climes. It would make an ideal fixed subwoofer in a small to medium sized performance venue, or as the mobile unit in a live sound or DJ rig.

Built to Sound Great and Last Forever
The speaker inside the PRX418S is a Selenium 457mm (18-inch) woofer in a front-loaded, vented enclosure. The speaker is protected behind a heavy-duty 16-gauge protective-screen-backed steel grille that resists dents and scratches. JBL specially designed the birch/poplar multi-laminate hardwood cabinet on the PRX418S series to give the speaker maximum frontal surface, helping it render low end with more prominence and clarity than other woofers. The enclosure is finished in super tough DuraFlex finish.

Straightforward I/O
The input panel features a pair of Neutrik Speakon NL-2 1/4-inch TS phone combo jack connectors wired in parallel. There is also a set of +1/-1 wiring pins here as well.
