About This Listing

Gretsch Centennial Series Kit #60

  • 8”x10” 1 of 5
  • 9”x12” 2 of 5
  • 14”x14” 3 of 5
  • 16”x18” 4 of 5
  • 6.5”x 14” 5 of 5 (missing box)
  • When they were released in 1983 they were double list priced, even for dealers.
  • Except for the snare drum they are all in factory boxes with original plastic. Although the plastic is in a state of decomposition I would classify these drums as never played and the few drums that were taking out of the boxes to be displayed in a place of prominence.
  • Kit has had one West Coast owner who lived close to the beach and was owned by west coast drum center store manager Joe Z.  They were the largest distributor of Gretsch drums for many decades on the west coast. If memory serves me correctly, in the late 1990’s they had many elm burr kits still available. I was lucky enough to grab myself one and am the proud owner of #44. I was also lucky enough to work for West Coast Drums for 8 years.
  • The gold has taken on corrosion 14”top hoop has it the worst dulled and lost its luster. Has two gold lug keys
  • the entire kit is due for a disassemble and pro detail.
  • Still the way it left the factory over 40 years ago. Original gold heads with no stick marks.

Not so modern drummer 2014 article. Has the best article on this
Centennial line of gretsch. They wouldn’t let me share link just Google.
