David Thomas McNaught Vintage Double Cut 2008 Antique Burst

This vintage double cut solid body guitar was hand made by David Thomas McNaught in Locust, North Carolina in 2008. When I ordered the guitar I was able to select several custom upgrades, including the diamond quilt top in antique burst, a rock maple neck, an ebony fretboard, an abalone vine fretboard inlay, and abalone border inlays around the entire fretboard and headstock. Standard features of the 2008 McNaught Vintage Double Cut guitar included a mahogany body, a “Set-Thru Neck,” dual humbuckers (Wagner Darkburst), 22 6105 stainless steel frets, a 24.75-inch scale length, Sperzel locking tuners, a Tone Pros Tune-o-Matic bridge, and a wooden cavity cover. Electronic controls are 1 volume knob, 1 tone knob, and a 3-way toggle switch. The tone knob is push/pull and can be used to split the humbuckers. Control knobs and pickup covers are black. The guitar came with a form-fitting black hardshell case that has a plush, black, crushed velvet-like interior lining.

The guitar has never been played and is in mint condition. The only blemish on the guitar is a scrape mark on the fretboard between the 8th and 9th frets (see photo #25, with red oval indicating the mark). It appears to be a tool mark that was made during the production of the guitar. It is shallow and inconspicuous, but it can be seen with the naked eye under close inspection in good light. The guitar is completely original and has not been modified in any way, except the strings were changed to facilitate the lemon oiling of the fretboard.

This guitar will be shipped free of charge to its new owner in its original hardshell case, which will be packed inside the original cardboard shipping box that came from David Thomas McNaught in 2008. The original Certificate of Authenticity also will be included.
