This Vintage Hohner/ Bartell "black widow" fretless Bass is in very nice playing shape, as the photographs attest. This is the rad, original 60s model, with all of the wild appointments that made these axes famous; doodads and thingimagigs abound; cool, 1/2 fret markers, ebony fretboard, patent pickups, etc. Even better, it sounds awesome.
The bass is in perfect functional conditon and plays as well and rocks as hard as it did in the day. The bass is completely original, and there are NO BREAKS. NO CRACKS. NO REPAIRS. This bass is solid. Cosmetically, the bass is in well worn, excellent vintage shape, with all of the light, normal exterior play wear one would expect of a well loved, well cared for, and well played guitar of this age and pedigree, included at no extra charge.
The action is light and crazy fast. The ebony fretboard is a dream and the original electronics are perfect and whisper quiet, and the original pickups deliver a beefy, dense and oh so yummy tone that makes this old girl a true pbass killer. Killer. Killer. A non original quality hardshell case (not pictured) is included.
