A great sounding early Silverface deluxe reverb.

The secret on the easiest now out. Silverface amps suffered in their reputation from the late 1970s, when Quality Control went down the tubes and they made some pretty big modifications to the circuits. The early silver face amps are still pretty close to the black face counterparts and are still, for the time being, a bit more affordable. A blackface deluxe reverb from a couple years earlier now sells for $4000 and up

This is an earlier one so it still has the pine cabinet which really helps with tone.

I do not think this amp has been serviced in its lifetime. But it currently sounds pretty good as is. If you’re going to gig regularly with it you should probably get it serviced but that’s up to you. Transformers are all original. Cabinet and grill have normal signs of use but no major damage. Some of the metal parts have oxidation

I replaced the power tubes with vintage replacements because the originals were shot. I also replace the Reverb driver preamp tube with a Mesa SP-AX7. It’s just a really high-quality 12AX7 that works great in that position. The amp has a little bit of a musty, old amp smell but it would probably clear up if you cleaned it. One of the reverb cables is a little finicky. It holds the signal but the braided wire is wearing out. If you turn it the wrong way or knock it the signal will cut out. You just have to adjust it a little and it comes back and stays fine. Might be a good idea to either solder the cable where the braided wire is wearing out, or just replace the reverb cable. Easy fix.

I don’t think the speaker is original to the amplifier but it might be. It dates to 1969.

Ships worldwide but I won’t falsify customs forms.
