I like to use a slightly larger diameter screw than the major manufacturers use. I find it holds the neck much better and is more sturdy. So, be careful if you are replacing a plate that used the thinner, lesser quality screws. Also, the gasket is really more of a decorative touch, although some believe it improves isolation between the plate and the body. You can either use the gasket or not. It's personal choice.
