Summary: Early advertisements for this instrument say “Genuine Gibsons in every respect – built to give performance that surpasses many guitars costing twice as much”. This little guitar has a very big sound.
Body: Mahogany back & sides with a spruce top.
Neck: Nice chunky Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fretboard – 19 frets with pearl dot fret markers.
Cosmetics: This guitar shows wear consistent with a well used instrument from the 1930's. This guitar has straight-line finish checking throughout the top & the back of the guitar. This guitar has the original tortoise-shell pick guard that has lots of character. There are a few nicks and dings on the body and one on the edge of the sound hole. At some point someone added two small white out spots as fret markers at the 5th and 7th fret. One tuning key is slightly bent but this does not effect functionality.
Playability: This guitar plays great with a nice tone and a big bluesy vintage sound. This guitar has medium low action and no fret buzz. It plays easily all the way up the neck. The bridge saddle is tall and the small fretwire is free of major divets and has a good amount of life left.
Mods / Repairs: Non-original bridge with a possible neck reset sometime in the past. This guitar may have also been refinished but it still looks great. There are no cracks or breaks and no structural issues. It plays and look great!
Weight: 3 lbs, 9 oz.
Case: This guitar comes with a vintage hardshell case with gold / yellow interior.
