Sadowsky 5 String Bass 5-21 Jazz Bass 1993 Tobacco Sunburst

Completed in August of '93, this bass was built for the great Richard Hammond (plays bass for the Hamilton musical, among many other notable projects).  It was then sold to Webster Roach, another killer gospel bass player out of Boston, MA.  The third and current owner is a professional world-traveling musician for the US Air Force. 

Plenty of great history in this instrument, but despite the mileage it has had -- it is very well taken care of and in great condition!  There are a few dings and nicks on the back and side (see photos), but the front of the bass is ding-free.   I have cleaned up bass, polished the frets and oiled the fingerboard, restrung and set it up for excellent playability and intonation.  The frets really aren't worn much at all, which is surprising.  It has not been refretted to my knowledge.  The most wear on the instrument is the back of the neck:  it has a thin satin lacquer that is wearing off evenly.  It still feels like there's finish on there, but its getting close to bare wood on the shaft of the neck.  The pickup covers and knobs have a great patina going on, too.

I am selling this on consignment instrument out of my small shop in Omaha, NE.  I built the owner a 4-string P bass last year... he is looking to simplify his playing from what he used this Hi-Fi 5-String wonder for.  Now you can be the next proud owner of this wonderful and storied instrument!
