The Schatten Artist II Plus 1 dual channel endpin jack preamp has two separate channels for use with piezo or magnetic pickups. Each channel has an adjustable input gain trim control from 0dB to 24dB to allow presetting the balance between the two channels. This model of the Artist II preamp has dual soundhole-mounted thumbwheel volume controls, one for each channel.
The Artist II preamp can be run from a 9 volt battery onboard the instrument, or by an outboard power source between 11 and 48 volts such as Phantom Power as provided by a mixer or PA system, or using the optional RP-1 external battery pack. This is an excellent option for resonator guitars, archtop guitars, mandolins and other instruments that have limited access to the inside of the instrument. A special cable (part #CAB-1, available separately) is required to run from either phantom power or from the optional RP-1 battery pack.
