Justin’s NS-5XL takes inspiration from long-time Spector player Dan Briggs’ signature instrument, but with some unique and impressive specifications. This NS-5XL is crafted with a figured maple body and a gorgeously figured black myrtle burl top, a three-piece maple neck, ziricote fingerboard and a 35” scale length. For electronics, this bass is equipped with passive EMG HZ pickups paired with Spector’s legendary HAZ 9V preamp. This instrument features a natural high gloss finish, ziricote headstock veneer with black myrtle burl truss rod cover, and black hardware.

Borrowing from the specs of Spector artist Dan Briggs, bassist of Between the Buried and Me, and using busy, high character woods like ziricote and myrtle, we aimed to capture both the look and sound of the genre in Spector’s classic NS design.” - Justin Smith
