This is my 2008, Larry Breslin, Deerhead, Classical Guitar. It is a Cedar "double top", with beautiful Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. With an Ebony board, the neck and bracing are Cuban Cedar. The gears are Alessi. I would describe the guitar as being in excellent condition except there are fingernail marks on the top under the rosette. These are visible in the photos, and the photos are a fair overall representation of the condition of the guitar.
Larry Breslin made me two guitars in the early 2000's. This is my only remaining one, and because of my tired old hands ( ;~). ) I am no longer playing classical guitar. Larry was not an expert in self-promotion, but is a very well-respected luthier in classical circles and made beautiful concert quality guitars. His "double top" guitars are constructed by gluing a sheet of Nomex "honeycomb" in a vacuum between two thin sheets of tone wood (spruce, cedar, redwood, etc.). This creates a strong, flexible, top that vibrates much like a speaker cone - increasing volume but retaining the natural guitar tones. There are two other Breslin double top guitars currently listed for sale on-line. 2013 Spruce/Cocobolo - $6,000, and 2020 Redwood/Brazilian - $7,500.
One interesting "factoid" about my guitar can be seen in the photos of the back of the headstock. Some time in the 1970s Larry built an acoustic bass guitar for Jaco Pastorius. He still had some of the rosette tiles that he designed for the bass guitar in his workshop, and I asked him to inlay one of them into the headstock of my guitar ... "voila". The guitar will ship in a BAM classical guitar case. It is in excellent working condition, but has some travel-scuffs on the shell. Also included is a case cover. Please add $200, flat fee, for packing, shipping, and insurance, Continental USA by UPS ground. If more, I will pay the balance. Local pickup in Denver, CO. is OK ... even preferred.
Because this listing has been on Reverb for awhile I deleted all prior pictures of the guitar and posted current pictures (3/28/25) to show current condition - the pictures fairly tell the story. The guitar remains in excellent condition except for the nail marks under the rosette.
