This is a custom B.C. Rich 8 string bass. The bass was customized from a 4 string. It has the following features:
· Neck through body
· Rosewood fretboard
· Badass Bridge
· Gotoh tuners for the bass strings
· Locking Gibson tuners for the picolo strings
· 9v active electronics
· Precision controls (volume, blend, bass, midrange and treble)
· Neck pickup - EMG precision
· Bridge pickup EMG humbucker
· Custom hardshell case
This bass puts out a wall of sound with the 8 strings and a 35" scale. The paint has pealed off a spot on the neck (shown in photo). Note: the bass should be kept de-tuned a whole tone in order not to put excessive tension on the neck. It can be tuned to a standard tuning for a short period (gig, etc) (I use a capo on fret 2). It plays fast for a big instrument.
