Each of the 14 presets allows to load and set up two separate channel settings through Channel A/Purple and Channel B/Blue, so you can easily switch between the two via the footswitches, which can be used also to select the presets.

The pedal also offers a three-way EQ section (Bass, Mid, Treble) for extra tone sculpting, but that only scratches the surface of what this pedal can do through the free Mooer Studio editing software, which allows loading of third party Impulse Responses, and also sample files of actual amplifiers using Mooer’s MNRS technology.

The editor software is free and can be downloaded from MOOER’s website () and allows users the comfort of a desktop interface when customizing and tweaking presets, loading third-party impulse response files, or updating the Model X2’s firmware. The Preamp Model X has been specifically designed to be compatible with files created using MOOER’s MNRS sampling technology. Simply download these files from MOOER Studio () and load them into your Model X2 using the editor software. The Model X2 is also compatible with MOOER’s GIR/GNR cab sim files as well as other major third-party impulse response filetypes.
