One of a Kind Collector's Instrument!

Yes folks, this is the original 1993 "Knotty Pine" Benedetto 17" Archtop serial number 29293 hand-made by Bob Benedetto himself and featured on page 6 of his 1994 book "Making an Archtop Guitar".  It features a carved "knotty pine" top with figured maple back and sides, ebony bridge and tailpiece, 21 fret ebony fingerboard, Grover Rotomatic tuners, and comes in the original Benedetto Tolex case with burgundy plush interior lining.

Per Bob Benedetto, "I wanted to prove that a great sounding guitar could be made from 'less than the best' woods."  This instrument is a work of art in the purest sense, and completely unique.  Simple, elegant, and beautiful both in appearance and sound.

This guitar was purchased by Scott Chinnery and was featured as part of the famous Chinnery Collection of guitars.  After his passing, Scott's estate donated this guitar (among others) to the MOMI (Museum of Musical Instruments) in Santa Cruiz, CA.  I purchased the guitar from the MOMI's eBay auction in 2004 and have held it even since.

The guitar is in absolutely pristine condition and has been stored safely in my temperature and humidity-controlled studio as a collector item with no use.  It is in original, immaculate and clean condition with fresh strings.  As you can see from the photographs, obviously, there never was a pickup or pickguard with this instrument.
