The greatest Swiss army tracking/mixing/mastering stereo suite available online. It doesn’t get bigger or badder than this combo, calibrated to work in tandem. A match made in mix/mastering heaven. Both are just incredible sounding and together they are something extremely special.

Why chase down a pair of Tubetech CL1B’s (8k) and a pair of Pultec EQP1’s (9k) and spend $17,000+ when you can put this stereo plug and play rig into your rack for half that?

THE COMPRESSOR:
The stereo Tubetech LCA2B remains a holy grail compressor / limiter with the Fairchild 670 presets and killer tube driven sound from Denmark. Mine was modified to have true stepped resistor based pots (as shown under the protective blue tape) for even better recall and dialing in of your perfect sound. This was quite a feat as each pot cost more than $100 to build and had to be further modified just to get them to fit inside of the chassis by a tech (the rings extended too far so they had to essentially be redesigned). This now allows you to use the handy stepped (dented) parameters for recall and mastering. It was also completely recapped and serviced by Roger Deller at electric lady studios in 2024 and comes with a clean bill of health.

THE EQ:
The tube driven stereo Pultec is an absolutely killer EQP1 made by Grinder in an extremely rare stereo format, only taking 2U in your rack instead of 4 like a pair of eqp’s. Faceplate features perfectly engraved lettering and thick powdercoated steel. Many components have been upgraded and reworked to perform better than spec and no expense was spared to make this the best stereo pultec money can buy. The unit also features Philips tubes with microphonic tube bands, the coveted & very hard to get, “Mullard Tropical Fish” capacitors, stepped pots, 1:1 topology and a massive blue Elcor transformer. The double bypass switches allow you to A-B the program material without needing to patch it in and out. The unobanium tropical fish capacitors, introduced to the radio market in 1964, have a polyester dielectrics which exhibits very low dielectric loss, high insulation resistance coupled with good temperature and moisture resistance. They far exceed the efficiency of paper dielectric capacitors and impart a luxurious sonic signature in critical audio applications. Many holy grail guitar amp designs also utilize them in construction as well as the highest end exotic outboard gear such as these EQ’s. I am including an extra one in a ziplock along with this listing since they are so hard to get.

Both units have been freshly serviced and gone through for this sale. The eq is not being sold separately as it is quite special to me but the compressor is listed separately here if interested in just that. The eq will only be sold as an add-on as I really don’t even want to sell it but they go so well together.

We first tested the eq by “mastering” our favorite Muito Kaballa Power Ensamble Jazz record and were shocked how much better we were able to make the mixes sound. We were able to find a sound that was much more punchy, open and clean than the originals which were mixed and mastered incredibly well to begin with. There’s nothing these sound bad on and it livens up even the most bland, ITB mixes you throw at it. Mixes become incredibly wide and larger than life.

CUSTOMIZING:
I also have a full set of x18 Manley machined aluminum knobs or red Neve knobs if you prefer them (in case they match your existing gear better than the originals). Just let me know what knobs you’d prefer if something different than the originals and I’ll exchange them.

PRICE:
Many of the mods were done before I got them. The Tubetech cost around 5k plus mods and the Pultec was around 4k plus mods. I then paid to have them modified further so they’re definitely worth more now but I’m looking to finally purchase a console so I’m selling off a ton of my collection.

Very minor rack. Rear panels are mint. Faceplates are in the exact condition shown in pictures so look close before purchasing. Comes with printed manual for Tubetech. Packed extremely securely with no box flop or “play” whatsoever. Each unit comes with their respective power cords.
