Marshall Half Stack Used On Alice In Chains’ DIRT Album & Other Famous Records
This Marshall 100W Super Lead with custom 4x12 belonged to the late Bryan Carlstrom, the highly respected engineer & producer with Dave Jerden for famous rock albums including:
* Alice In Chains – Dirt (1992)
* Offspring – Americana (1998)
* White Zombie – I Am Hell (1996)
* Social Distortion – Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell (1992)
The head is a 1980 Marshall JMP Super Lead modified by Mike Morin. The head is switchable between 100 watts and 50 watts. Drake T100 transformer. Vintage GE power tubes included from studio with a more recent Tung Sol set.
The cabinet is a Marshall 1960 Tall Vintage 4 x 12 with a custom speaker set. The combination is an extremely rare Vox Blue Bulldog, a Celestion 25 Greenback, and two Celestion Vintage 30’s. This unique cabinet is a key aspect of the guitar sound on the aforementioned albums.
SKB carrying case and guitar cables from Westlake studios included.The head is referred to, albeit incorrectly, in the book Alice In Chains: In The Studio as being a “Super Lead modified by Mike Yarn”, while also being on display in the studio in magazine articles and videos.
