Take a P.A.F. with extra midrange sizzle and dip it in Texas hot sauce and you'll get a Pearly Gates.
It's a recreation of Billy Gibbon's '59 Les Paul pickup that had slightly more output than most P.A.F.s. The Alnico 2 bar magnet keeps the high end airy but focused, with strong tailored mids, and a warm, spongy low end. The result is a neck pickup that really cuts through.
Hand built in Santa Barbara, California, the Pearly Gates uses an alnico 2 barmagnet, nickel silver bottom plate, a 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance.
And as with all P.A.F. style humbuckers from Seymour Duncan, every Pearly Gates is wound on Seymour's original Leesona winding machine from the early Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
