As I've been asked if it's possible to deliver by a couple of potential buyers, I'm changing to that option. I will now post to mainland Europe, UK and USA. If you live in a less accessible place drop me a line and I'll see what it costs.
The very rare Maccaferri G40 is a small-sized archtop cutaway made from Dow Styron. This is the De Luxe version hence the G40 designation. The other lower spec one is the G30.
The fan bracing of the top differed from most wood archtops of the period, which either had X-bracing or parallel bars. Maccaferri’s Styron guitars were intended to be serious musical instruments and a legitimate alternative to the wood guitar, which is sensitive to changes humidity, unlike the plastic instrument. This is definitely not a toy.
• The guitar does have a couple of issues:
• The nut had broken and was replaced with a nylon one and part of the headstock face has cracked and been repaired and it's now stable. There are a few on Reverb now with worse issues and they're asking a lot more for them.
• There's a number scratched on the top of the back of the headstock. Last picture.
The guitar is shown here with Nylon Strings but it was originally intended for steel strings for that Gypsy sound. It's currently wound with steel strings and it's happy either way.

• Good condition overall with some play wear & natural ageing. The headstock cover has had a repair which is quite common with these and is now stable. The moulded nut was also removed and replaced with a nylon one.
• The neck is tortoiseshell plastic with a wood core and with brass frets & plastic dot inlays. Geared tuners; 1 7/8" nut width & 24 3/4" scale length.
• Single cutaway Dow Styron body with dual F-holes. Creamy white coloured top & tortoiseshell back & sides. Trapeze tailpiece, built in plastic bridge and neck-tilt mechanism for setting the action.
• Non-original hardshell case and original label included.
