Here's a chance to own a vintage 1960s Framus Star Bass, made iconic by Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones. Cosmetically, this is in great shape. No cracks or breaks, just some typical lacquer checking for an instrument 50+ years old.
This is worth more in parts, but we'd rather sell "As is." Has the original pickups, bridge, tailpiece, two "V" volume knobs and one "T" tone knob, thumb rest, fully functional tuning machines, string guide, truss rod cover, strap buttons, slide switch plate.
The issues:
Bridge pickup works and responds to volume and tone controls. The neck pickup is non-functioning and will need to be rewound or replaced. Action is playable but high, and we fear the truss rod may be broken. The bolts in the neck plate are unoriginal. This was routed underneath the input jack plate, we're guessing by someone who wanted easier access to electronics.
Will ship in hard case, which has been painted with what we presume is a previous owner's band name. As a result of all these notes, we are shipping the instrument as-is for a restoration project or to part out. All sales final.
Guitar Bar is a storefront in Hoboken, NJ and we actually like talking to people. Feel free to reach out with any questions or offers. Local pickup is always okay. We reserve the right to end a listing early if an item sells in-store.
