G&L L-5000 1991 Black

For sale is a rare G&L L-5000 5-string bass in near mint condition. Only about 400 copies of this model were produced. The serial number suggests it was built in 1991.

• Quartersawn maple neck, 1 3/4" at the nut
  
• MFD 5-string split pickup, truly a P bass on steroids! 
  
• Metal pickguard and Saddle Lock bridge are finished with a factory black crinkle finish

Condition-wise, this bass is in incredible shape. If you look very carefully, there are a couple minor dents that don't go through the finish, and an almost undetectable mark on the end of the headstock.  There is also a bit of minor discoloration on the back of the neck at the base. Little to no fret wear.  No neck issues were noted.

The bass plays and sounds great! It's lightweight and very ergonomic and comfortable to play. The tone is exactly what you would expect from a G&L P bass - everything from warm and smooth to edgy and aggressive is available.
