About This Listing

Great Jazz guitar! This was Yamaha’s top fo the line hollowbody in the early 1970’s, all parts were made in house by Yamaha. Maple body with spruce top and maple neck. The tailpiece has a sort of embossed leather that says “Nippon Gakki”. Inlaid arrow fret markers and a beautiful finish really set this model apart!
I don’t know the precise year but the best estimate I came up with was 1972-76. This guitar sold for 180,000 Japanese Yen new, that’s equivalent to $4000 in today’s dollars!

It’s in great condition especially considering the age! See pictures for details. Comes in a soft ease, case has one bad and one functioning zipper.
