FUNCTION - Tube Equalizer

DESCRIPTION - This listing is for a Manley Labs EQP1-A Enhanced Mastering "Pultec" Equalizer. This is one of Jerry's prized pieces and integral part of his guitar sound. 

We were just getting into the blink-182 record, and Jerry turned me on to using the Manley Enhanced Pultec EQ as the tone shaper for all the guitar tracks that we cut. The amp heads were in the control room with us, run through long speaker cables out into the living room of the house to the cabinets. Mics went into preamps that were out in the live room via short, high quality mic cables. Long snakes brought the line level signals into the control room we had set up in the guest wing of the house. All the guitar signals (typically pre-amped with Manley, Mastering Labs and Chandler TG-2s) ran line-in to a BCM-10 that Jerry had just bought. We rarely used any EQ on the 1073s, opting to move or change mics instead, but we bussed all the mics through the Manley Pultec, and used its broad midrange curve to dial in the tone we wanted - Ryan Hewitt 2017
