Sony WM-GX688 Walkman Radio/Recorder

A WM-GX688 Recording Walkman in well working condition with some sign of use and age. The Walkman has been checked and serviced (including a new belt) in a repair shop, both playing and recording functions work well. There are a couple of mild scuffs and a little dent on the button and back side, but nothing extreme. As always, check the pics to inspect it yourself. Also check the video where I test the player. The Walkman runs on a gum battery, or external AA battery holder (not included). What is included though is an original Sony Walkman pouch.

Due to restrictions on the shipping of batteries I unfortunately can not include a (gum) battery for you (I can recommend those long lasting 3000MAH ones that you can find at AliExpress).

Walkman Enthusiasm
In recent times I got more into portable cassette players, the Sony Walkman in particular. I got the devices from various sources, like second hand markets, online platforms and from fellow enthusiasts/collectors. When putting the players up for sale I try to give an honest and complete description. In some cases I take care of simple repairs and carefully clean the players, when a more complex repair is necessary I have it done by a professional, there are also many other cases in which the device recently has been serviced by the previous owner. I try to share all this information, but this all having said we are talking about mechanical devices that are a couple of decades old, meaning I can not guarantee durability in the future, all I can promise is that you receive the player as I described and photographed it here. Of course I will pack it well and safe for an overseas trip. IMPORTANT: SHIPPING IN CORONA TIMES
You can find all information on shipping via the 'Payment & Returns' or 'Shop Policies' section. In short: due to the corona crisis many shipping options are suspended or more expensive than usual. I have to use EMS or UPS to most countries, which are more expensive express options. Budget options for light items like this luckily have returned for a limited amount of countries: if an amount of 12 EUR (approximately 15 USD) or less shows for your location, this means I will ship this item by standard air mail which will be quite a bit slower than the express options (could be over a month to Europe and the US). Get in touch first if you want to upgrade shipping to EMS or UPS. If a higher amount is shown I have no choice but using the express option to your location.

Keep in mind that your country could charge import taxes and VAT to you, if you are not familiar with buying items from abroad, please look into the regulations of your country as it is your responsibility to handle these eventual taxes. To some regions like EU and UK, VAT on items under 150 EUR will be prepaid via Reverb.
