About This Listing
This vintage Sigma by Martin D18 styled acoustic dreadnought guitar was handcrafted by skilled luthiers while Sigma was still under ownership by Martin. It is professionally converted to left-handed set up, with the angle of the saddle adjusted properly for correct lefty intonation. The original right handed side dots are great if you're a right handed player looking to set it up right handed. The nut width is 42.8mm (1.68”) and the guitar plays fantastic with a low action. The thickness of the neck is .87” at the first fret with a V shape.
This is currently one of the only left handed vintage Sigma guitar available anywhere and the tone is outstanding. Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides, all gloss finish, and all original parts including saddle and tuners, which function great. The paper label is missing on the inside, with a number “2” engraved on the back brace (it likely made in the 1980s in Korea or Japan). Though this guitar appears to have never had a pickguard installed, I’m including a vintage NOS left handed Sigma by Martin pickguard in case you want to install it (shown in last photo).
Production of Sigmas has now moved to China with a satin finish. The earlier Vintage 70s-80s Sigmas with gloss finish from either Japan or Korea are getting very hard to find. The sound, tone, and playability of this guitar is outstanding and it looks fantastic. The chunky soft V profile feels great and the frets still have plenty of life.
A free gig bag case is included with buy it now price. Your purchase also includes a free black Musicians Gear acoustic guitar stand. It'll be professionally packed with free USA shipping with full Reverb Shipping protection included, worldwide buyers welcome.
