Here is another one of Jeff Tweedy's prized Jolana collection, the Soviet era Czech ALMOST-copies of Western guitars. They get about 60% right and I think they guess on the other 40%... but it always turns out great. This one looks like the Jolana Iris ( their ALMOST copy of the Telecaster) but I guess since it has only one pickup and that crazy curved metal bridge, it has a different model name. .. the Vikomt. It comes in a car paint style red and a funky tremolo system. It may be a refin due to the inside of the F hole being painted, but we can't be sure. These guitars are in a lot of ways similar to what brands like Teisco were doing in Japan around the same time.. making very affordable guitars based on some design elements of the more popular guitars of the day with their own crazy flare thrown in for variation. We love them, as you can tell. Yes, we are thinning the herd but more to make room for fun new things.
