SSL 4000G+ Solid State Logic 4040G+

Here's a rare opportunity to own the classic SSL 4000G+ recording and mixing console.  What makes this one particularly special is that it has been meticulously maintained and serviced over the last 25 years by the legendary SSL/Studer/Neumann studio tech (and author) Roger Ginsley !  When we say rare, we mean RARE.  There have only been a handful of SSL 4000's that were maintained and serviced by Roger to hit the resale market and if you've been waiting for a gem here it is.  

This is a 4040G+ SSL equipped with:

The centre section and output section were both recently recapped by Roger and he also replaced all SOLO and CUT buttons.  The SSL computer functions fine but Roger wired up a bypass as the studio relies entirely on Pro Tools automation.

There are only a couple known issues with the desk but they do not affect its  functionality.  They are as follows:

• the phase meter (which is included) and the plasma screen in the centre  are not functioning 
  
• some of the buttons in the Ready Tape, Ready Group and Arm no longer function as the console hasn't needed to be wired up to a tape machine in over 15 years
  

This desk is coming from a professional smoke free environment where it has been in service since 1996.  The studio is transitioning to a more POST/Film production centric studio and is being replaced with an AVID S6 Pro Tools Atmos equipped controller.   All maintenance since 1996 was completed by Roger Ginsley.  All manuals and documentation are included including Roger's complete and very detailed service records from the last 25 years.  For all serious buyers we will put you in contact with Roger so that you can speak with him directly and ask any questions you may have.  On top of being an overall awesome human being and a fine gentleman, Roger is an incredible resource with a wealth of knowledge and technical wizardry who has over 50 years of experience as a studio tech going back to his early days at Roundhouse and Wessex Sound in London, England in the late 1960's!   A rare gem himself, and once you get to know him you'll know what we mean...

As a bonus we are including all the wiring and looms for the console, a TON of spare parts that the studio has amassed over the years and boxes of cabling and wiring.  

This console will be fully decommisioned by Roger and all modules will be removed from the frame and packaged individually and separately from the main frame to ensure their safety in transit.  The frame will be split in 2 and packed and shipped in separate crates making your installation and commissioning a  much easier task.  Depending on where you are located we may be able to assist with commissioning this console in your studio.
