An amazing aluminum necked bass, in original orange. This is an amazing color and the only one that I have ever seen. The condition of this bass is outstanding. All sorts of sounds are possible, I never actually determined what all the switches do, but along with the pickups, they create almost every imaginable bass sound.
I love aluminum necks. Unfortunately too many instruments in too small a house.
Comes with a HS case (Sigler Music Center), good condition but probably not original.
Here’s the pervious listing description (from Reverb), I couldn’t say it any better:
“This is the '81 Kramer DMZ 5000 4 String electric bass guitar. 34" scale. 1.54" nut width. Serial #: A5611. Pot code: 13781xx. 9.8 lbs. The aluminum neck Kramers are highly sought after by collectors and players alike. With a look and sound all their own, The DMZ's have earned their place in guitar history. This is an extremely rare example- I've only found one other 5000 in orange with dot inlays and passive electronics- just beautiful. Talk about tone, the maple body combines with the aluminum neck to bring incredible resonance and great low end. The machine screw neck design adds excellent sustain and tone transfer. The Dimarzio P & J pickups provide both incredible vintage clean tones and great gains. Hit the series/parallel switches and take your bass right to the front of the mix! From slap/pop to modern rock, this bass can hang. This auction includes the hardshell case in photos, serialed Kramer warranty card.”
