I have owned this mint Gibson bass since 1972. It is in like new condition. I was given this bass by my friend Neil that was the roadie for Jack Bruce when they came through Chicago with their group West, Bruce, and Laing in 1972.
I was asked by Neil to take the bass in payment for the $240 Neil borrowed from me.
I'd rather take the cash, but he had zero money so I accepted the bass. Jack Bruce brought 4 basses on tour. My friend didn't steal it, he asked for it since it cost more to ship it back to England than it was worth at the time.
It's in perfect condition. It has the original strings on it since 1972, these are the strings Jack Bruce preferred.
It has the original case. The case shows "on the road" wear.
You can tell the guitar being perfect and the case showing travel wear that the evidence matches the story..
I have a letter explaining where the bass came from and who it was associated with. This is a special bass.
Thank you.
