2025 Note: We have reactivated our Reverb store after some time off. These old listings were mostly written in 2020-2021, when we had time to deal with these projects. If you're interested in all or even part of this listing, feel free to send a message and we can get a conversation going.
OK, so just hear me out. Up for sale is a lot of (2) Yamaha PM-3000C 40-channel mixing consoles, (5) PW-3000 power supplies, several spare channel and buss strips, two walkaround cases of replacement parts, and a pile of service/product documentation. Yes, that is a lot. I imagine the engineer, sound company, or technician interested in this listing will be heavily interested in analog, and possibly into repair work. And yes, we're heavily considering offers. Please message if this listing piques your interest in any way, and we'd be happy to start a dialogue. Reverb only allows 25 pictures per listing, but I have more if there are questions.
Consoles are in road cases and have never toured. First console (red tape) was in our rental inventory for years as a FOH desk for regional events, albeit relatively underused due to having other options available; the boss estimates less than 100 events over our time owning it. Second console (white tape) was purchased as a backup/spare parts unit out of a theater about 10 years ago and never used on an event for us.
I ran through the entire "red taped" desk and marked all issues.....with red tape. I noted all discovered problems in a document and will pass that along at your request or with the sale. The "white taped" desk was tested and marked when we acquired it, and we are not interested in running it through full testing again; I did pass signal through the master buss and that does work.
One of the power supplies does not power up a desk, as marked in pictures. The other (4) work perfectly fine as-is, though as with any old gear, it might be best to have someone scope out the health of these beastly supply units, particularly capacitors.
The parts are numerous and plentiful. Without going into detail (because we have no real interest in doing so), I can tell you there are pots and switches and IC's and what seems like a spare to most parts on the desk. I will mention again that this listing could be ideal for a person interested in repair work, as the possibility exists of assembling at least one fully-functional desk *right now* with the given number of channel strips and parts between the two desks.
Documentation included is several manuals and service docs to get you working on these hunks of metal.
I understand that you may be interested in something specific out of this lot, or perhaps several parts of it. You can feel free to send us a message with any questions regarding any of this equipment and we are willing to discuss, but our primary interest right now is offloading everything as a package for the sake of ease. I'm listing as "Local Pickup" for similar reasons, but we would of course consider discussing freight or shipping options for this gear.
Aside from aforementioned possibilities, why would this make sense to purchase? I'm thinking studio people looking for 40 clean preamps, easy/quick monitor mixes, and analog summing; maybe a church with volunteers that understand the workflow of analog but need more inputs at FOH than their current board offers, or even adding one for a broadcast/stream mixer. But it definitely needs someone willing to put in some work to make these things purr again to their fullest extent. The previous value of these old analog workhorse desks would shock some people; if you're looking to get what amounts to tens of thousands of dollars worth of value and long-term durability, give it some thought. Thanks!
