INVENTORY #42799

BRAND: Neve

MODEL: 8014

FUNCTION: 16 Channel Analog Recording Console

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Presented for sale is this very rare vintage Neve 8014 16 Channel Analog Console from the recording arsenal of artist Robbie Roberston.

Robbie purchased this console thirty years ago and it has resided exclusively in his production room at Village Recorders here in Los Angeles ever since. Please check out the wonderful interview with Robbie that gives some insight into his connection and history with this legendary Neve and "museum piece".

Over the last three decades, the console was only serviced as needed by the in-house techs at The Village and was in regular use up until it was decommissioned for this sale just three weeks ago.

Just before powering it down it was fully tested by the tech at The Village and found to be in full working condition minus a few lights that need to be changed.

A Neve aficionado might notice that the meter bridge panel has been improved and the 16 smaller meters and meter assign toggle switches added. This is considered a useful upgrade from the original.

Robbie mentions also that there were some modifications done to the patchbay to accommodate evolving gear and I/O needs but no other major service or modifications were done to the console.

A few other mods are going on, primarily in the master panel with some additional key toggle switches added, red DIM and green studio lighted pushbuttons changed and the master and monitor section has additional 1272 and 1271 amplifiers added for mixdown and insert features most likely as that is a very useful update. The 1889 rev return modules have been relocated and the oscillator moved two positions over to the left.

The original Neve rack-mountable power supply housing is intact and has been upgraded with a Lamda power supply mounted inside.

As one can see from the photos the paint and silkscreening are in excellent condition and shows the console has been in good hands all of its life. It really is a treasure!
