The former owner of this bass is a longtime customer and astute collector. All of his basses are in immaculate condition, unless otherwise noted (please see note, below*).

This early-‘80s Series 1 is in almost-perfect cosmetic condition. There is patina on some of the brass parts, but as you can see in the photos, the wood has been babied. The paper covering is still on the brass back control-plate cover.

The Series 1 features “point”-style body design, 5-piece through-body neck (maple/purpleheart) and stunningly grained Ovangkol top and back over mahogany body wings. The headstock is multi-veneered, with a striking volute.

Alembic basses achieve their tonal clarity by using 2 low-impedance single-coil pickups, with a middle-position dummy pickup that offers hum cancellation in any position. Controls include 2 each Volume, Q-switch (mini), Filter knob plus a rotary pickup selector switch. A stereo 1/4” output is standard.

*The preamp seems to be stereo output only through quarter-inch and 5 pin connector

*This bass was formerly owned by T.M Stevens (See last picture of original bill of sale)
T.M Stevens sang and played bass on James Browns "Living in America" along with Browns album Gravity
Stevens has recorded with many artists including:
Steve Vai, Neil Zaza, Cyndie Lauper, Little Steven, Tina Turner, Dan Hartman and Billy Joel.

Original hardshell case, power supply and cables included.
