G&L L-2500 USA 5 String Bass '97/98 translucent blue & Stunning Birds Eye Maple

Excellent shape G&L, Fullerton, USA made 5 string bass. This has been lovingly babied and played in my smoke, child, pet free studio. It is setup like butter, and plays like a dream. The truss is responsive and smooth, and the neck is perfectly straight, and a joy to play on. It has the perhaps the nicest rosewood fingerboard & rock/sugar neck I've ever seen. The birds eye figuring is beautiful. The translucent blue body (looks like Ash- but not sure), is spectacular as well. Tons of life in the frets. 1.775 inch top nut (~ 1 25/32" or ~45.25mm).

The chrome hardware is top notch, not to be confused with the cheap stuff from lesser makers. It's either a 1997 or a 1998. There are a few play marks here and there, but nothing worth mentioning specifically. Check pics for exact condition.

The pickups are my favorite part, but they're kind of confusing. I've included a guide in the pics. I believe they are the classic G&L Humbucking MFD's (magnetic field design), which were Leo Fender's last major innovation before his passing. They yield about twice the output of conventional pickups.

Comes with the original hardshell case.
