This is a Magnatone Lap Steel from the 1950s. The serial number scheme is hard to pin down, but if you do any research at all, it is definitely from that time period.
The lap steel is in great condition to be around 70 years old. It has some scratches here and there, but nothing major that you would not expect. The scratches and flaws have been captured in the photographs.
It does have the original electronics in it, and it sounds and plays like it should. The tuner buttons have been replaced, which is typical for an instrument this old since plastic from that era decays. The tuners, however, are original.
It comes with the original case that includes sheet music and vintage case candy--presumably from the purchase of the instrument. The hinges of the case are broken, but could be repaired. Finally, one would assume that this instrument came with the amp since they were sold in sets back then (see photos of advertisement included in case).
