CBS Laboratories 411 Volumax stereo compressor limiter

Only $750 a Side! Nuetrik pigtails added. Highly sought after, rare stereo version of the CBS compressor. The only one on the net for sale and still cheaper than most great stereo compressors. Looking to trade for some good EQ’s or a preamp. Works and passes audio but needs work to be “like new” again.

Both units in this stereo pair are working, incredibly rare, clean and highly desirable. One works fine, the top unit needs TLC. Pigtails already added, VU's repaired, bulbs changed out. Unit is prime for the modifications you’ve seen from these awesome CBS compressors. This one actually came out of 31st street CBS studios too and was on some pretty legendary records. Artists to have recorded at CBS while this unit was employed were Dionne Warrick, Al Green, The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra and more. These artists apparently recorded there in the room this unit lived in although there is obviously no certificate saying so.

If you’re looking you know what this is and how cool it can become with a moderate investment. I was quoted $450-550 for the full modifications you’ve seen with added control over attack, release, ratio etc. Modern 1.5’ Nuetrik pigtails have already been installed and working on the rear of unit from terminal strips. Lots of meat on the bone here: Do the mod yourself and build huge gear equity instantly. Double it’s value with minimal investment before I do.

I paid 2k about 6 years ago so price is pretty firm. I’m also open to equal value trades of any kind too, if that helps move it to the right home.
